Propane to Gas - Carburated Engine
« on: June 13, 2010, 12:34:36 PM »
What does it take to convert a vehicle from propane back to a gasoline engine on a carburated Engine engine.

From my limited knowledge, I am guessing its just take the propane lines off the carb, remove lines and tank then install everything from gas tank to lines into carb.

Pretty much, it will need a fuel pump. If the old one is still on the block(mechanical) it will probably need replacing as the diapfram is probably dried out. Timing will need to be set back to stock. Some conversions used a "fix it" module. Pull that out. Sometimes the gas tank was removed, so put that back in and repair the lines. Wiring for the gas guage to teh float may have been re-routed to the propane tank. Heater lines need to put back.

A new carb will be needed. The propane carb won't run gas, if it was a draft system with a gas carb for a base it will still need replacing as it proably had the choke mechanism gutted and the gaskets will have dried out and the bowls will leak.
