4/5 point harness

hey i have a 99 tj and was just wondering if anyone is running a 4 or 5 point harness and how they did it its hard to find any clear pictures on the net and i don't want to order a harness and not be able to make it work any photos or suggestions?

You generally want to tie the harness into the frame. You may want to talk to some of the guys on the forum that build custom cages. They can tie your roll cage to the frame and weld a bar between the cage to mount your harness. You don't want to mount the harness to the floor. I've been looking into the Corbeau three point retractable harness http://www.corbeau.com/products/harness_belts/2-inch_retractable_harness_belts/. They may be able to mount to stock seat belt holes.

This allows you to lean forward and reach your stereo if you want to. I've heard that true 4 or 5 point harnesses are a pain for a daily driver. They take forever to put on and off, and you also can't bend forward.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

You want to use the harnesses for "show" or actual 4wheeling use?
I wouldn't run them if you are intending this for a daily driver. I had 4point in my CJ, and 5point in my FJ4O( the crotch strap was evil!) with RCI seats. Very cumbersome for the driver and passenger to get into compared to normal seatbelts.  The seats aren't very comfortable or forgiving either. Once you are strapped in; you might find it confining to drive around in. My passengers hated it.

id say 50/50 but that three point that is shown above is perfect because it can act as both a normal seatbelt and you can lock it so its more of a harness

Have you considered a CG lock?

It is basically just an add on for your existing seat belt so it is like a 5 minute install.  They have 80% of the holding capacity of a full harness, I use it for Autocross... works like a charm.

Did you try the Corbeau unit?  I am interested in this myself.  I used to have a four point system on my old truck (78 GMC bought new in 78.  Installed four point in  79, wheeled it till it died in 89).  I loved the four point even on the street.  I miss it.

no i havnt tried it yet spending money on other things more important right now
