Sad Day for the jeep
« on: October 27, 2010, 12:47:10 AM »
I'm driving home from work and huge BANG and the engine dies while I'm downtown pull over hear liquid running out like crazy thinking to myself hopefully its the new radiator that is under warranty  look at the ground what do i see oil call AMA get the tow truck lifts it up then the tranny oil comes out...or at least i think for now. so I'm pretty sure i blew my engine will diagnose better tomorrow but i have a couple options now if it is in fact a blown engine.
A) replace engine straight up keep it a 2.5 in-line 4
B)buy new jeep switch parts over
C) (which i would like to do most) put in a new beefier sexier engine...

which lays the question of what is possible to put in I'm willing to do alot of work myself and have a few mechanics as friends who will help out.

so just wondering what i can throw in i know there is many options just want to know what they are.

connecting Rod through the oil pan?

I would swap in a engine. We did Johnny's over a couple weekends. prob could be done it in one, but we stopped frequently for beers and to BS.

and an incorrect pilot bearing.

the direct engine replacement will be your easiest bet.............
