YJ tub body mount question
« on: November 07, 2010, 04:52:52 PM »
I'm in the process of stripping a 89 YJ tub to put on my 83 CJ-7. When I removed both the rear body mount bolts they turned about 1/2 a turn and broke off. The bolt is still stuck in the mount in the body.  I can see no easy way of getting at the nuts, short of cutting away some of the metal covering the nuts  from the top and welding a new set on.
I can't be the first guy to run into this. Any ideas, solutions or someone to tell me how to fix this before I go at it the hard way would be appreciated.
Thanks
John S

Forgot to add I found lots when I google it, but if anyone has done this I would love a little advice.

when I did it I just took a small cutting disk to the side of the ridge were the bolt broke and cut a slot in the metal. there should be a plate in side the metal and it should be able to pull the plate out the slot and replace it with a flat plate with a hole tapped into it the size of the bolt that broke off. I did 4 of them on mine.
