Oh No another JK tire size thread...

Yes I used the search and google,

Not interested in tire height just looking for info on tire width (p-metric) that will comfortably fir on a 17x 7.5 JK rim with either no lift or 2 inch BB.

its the wife's' jeep and will not see much trail use (unless she falls asleep and I find the keys) BFG KOs (285 70 or 75 R17) will probably be the way I go unless someone else can recommend a better behaved overall street/light use and winter tire at about the same price point.

Just muddy the water a bit more...... apparently I can get a good price on a set of  Nitto - Terra grapplers, any thoughts on these tires?

I don't have experience to comment on the tires but in general if width is the concern you can take measures to adjust for that whether it's wheel spacers or added washers to the turn stops.

I bought the goodyear duratracs for Sahara 18". there were not cheep, but they are good year round, i was told only good things about them every were i went. I am waiting for winter to test them out, they are rated 9 if not 10 for winter (1-10 rating). They ride nice, look great on a 3.25 lift, so with no lift would be good too. I can hear them when i drive but not as bad as other MT or LT. They are LT.  I do not know the price of your but probably same range i think.

I've run bridgestone dueller A/T's on 2 separate trucks now and they've performed phenomenally on both.. I've worked in rock quarries and everything and they didn't chew through the tires I was constantly up and down dirt roads doing burnouts and everything.. In the winter I was driving all the way from Canmore to Airdrie for work back and forth each day 4 days a week with extremely rarely having to put my truck in 4x4 for traction (I only had 3 sandbags in the back as well) so I'm extremely impressed with them. Some other members of my family that drive way more then me even (I do 250km a day..) run them and still the same thoughts.

I had a set of these tires on my work truck in the oil & gas industry. I went waaaaay out of my way to kill the Ford so I could get a newer GMC from the company(new trucks came with leather seats), and the only thing that lasted were the Nitto's. I drove through rain, snow, sloppy mud etc at arrest me speeds and was impressed  at how well they handled the abuse. The tires weren't the greatest in deep snow but it's not a severe-winter rated tire. I felt safe on them and they wore well for the extremely high kms that I put them through.

Nitto is also a division of Toyo Tires and that says something right there.

I don't know anything first-hand about the Nitto's, but the Duratracs are a solid tire. I run a studded set for winter use, and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

As far as tire size goes, a 33X12.5 (or metric equivalent) will fit with a 2" BB (or without a lift if you never disconnect). You will need spacers to get your effective backspacing up into the 4.5" range though....if you go to a 12.5 inch wide tire, you will rub your tires on the suspension components with the stock 6" backspacing.

Smells like bacon sounds like a feature to me. Is it mean/inconsiderate to do burn outs in front of a vegetarian restaurant with these tires?
