Banks power Pack System
« on: October 26, 2011, 10:05:19 AM »
I recently bought a Banks Power Pack system which includes a cold air intake, torque tube header pipe, cat back exhaust system and programmer for my jeep. Does anyone know what sort of power/fuel mileage gains I might see?

it depends on which jeep you're instaling it on. but you will feel a difference in throttle response and power. fuel mileage... sure, maybe. hard to say.

Jeepers..welcome to the site.

If you own  a Jeep;  forget about the fuel economy....  they are pig on gas. Get a 4cl. Honda if you want fuel economy.

You'll need to open up your system right after the header and put in a high flow cat and may be you'll see a bit better throttle response.

I have upgrated to the Bank torque tube also on my I6  because they are well built and will not be prone to crack.

This is on a 4 litre?

Nothing to speak of for mileage results.

Power you will see a small gain at wide open throttle due to the programmer.

Basically its going to sound better, and pass it bit better on the high way. Otherwise there wont be much change. The main restriction in 4 litres is the cylinder head, and valve timing due to emission control. Until thats addressed, its very difficult for the 4 litre to take any advantage at all from things like intakes and exhausts.

The chip on the other hand advances ignition timing and increases injector pulse at WOT. Thats where you see the gains.

Unless its an offroad specific program, at which point they are allowed to change the tuning throughout the entire rpm range. The WOT thing is due to emission standards and regulations, etc etc.

Hope that helps
