grand lift height

okay trying to make some final decisions here...

one being lift height?

what have u guys Ran?


liked ? disliked?

i am thinkin 4.5

and what sp[ring if u where gonna do it all again would u run...

its short arm adjustable uppers fornt and rear and adjustable trck bars

4.5" Rubicon Express springs, 4.5" is the edge of a well behaved street vehicle
Front IRO long arms
Rear adjustable upper and lower arms
Front and rear adjustable trackbars
Bilstein 5125 shocks ~28" extended
JKS Disconnects

Don't bother with IRO steering, the heims squeak like a mofo and they wear out ridiculously fast.

If you go 7" swap the rear short arms for long arms, Clayton 7" coils and longer shocks

Under 4" get shorter shocks and use adjustable upper and lower front control arms

I have run 2" BB with only longer shocks, 3.5" on only lower control arms, 3.5" on all adjustables, 5.5" on long arms and rear adjustables. Always used RE springs, those and Clayton are the best bang for the buck at that height (at least on a Grand). When I get my rear bumper I'll run a 7" spring to get 6" of overall lift.

3" is good.

your tires will look stoopid if you lift it any higher. then you'll need 33s.  ;)

Yep. I've done a few heights. My fav is around 5.5'. Your gonna spend a few $$ getting your shafts, steering ect where you like it. But Johnny's right...31's are not enough after 3'. If i was going to change springs i would go with IRO or RE. Again thats just one guys ideas.  ;)

8" and Claytons Long Arms.

Very well built/ stout kit. Expensive. Mine isn't street friendly but thats probably more to do with the 36" bias ply tires and homebuilt diffs and steering.

Next build is a 5.9 ZJ that will be 100% streetable, 3-4" of lift and 31-33s.

okay after thinking some more i think i am going to go with a 4.5 coil and with bumpers and roof rack and such should be about 3.5 lift....

alot like a expedition rig and if it doesn t sag to much will put 33's on it...
