Goodyear Territories on sale this week at Canadain Tire
« on: January 19, 2012, 12:13:39 PM »
Been trying to find a set of Duratracs all month. Turns out the Territories are on sale this week so I'm going with those. They were $264 a tire now $198 for a 265/75/16.

Just heads up for anyone else looking.

Buddy of mine has them on his Nissan... nice tire and price too. Would you wheel em? Thinkin about them for the wifes Jeep for daily winter duties.

I had 31's on my xj, I was running them at 11psi. they performed really well especially in the snow. they are quiet on the highway and awesome in the winter as they are a winter compound. they also wear very well. I had mine for 1 season before i tore the jeep apart.

Have a set of these on my Ranger and they have been great in the weather so far :) would definately purchase again.
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

My buddy just bought a set of those in the same size. He says he loves them especially in the snow and ice we just got. He says they are 20 times better than what came on the WK stock

I think I know someone who's trying to copy your style  ;D

I also think I cut you off pretty bad in front of national 4x4 this past summer.

My neighbor has them on his 2500 dodge and says they are not quite Duratracs but for the price, they are a decent tire. He has about 30k on his and they still have about 60% left.

Won't be wheeling this rig, other than thru the drifts on the driveway for our acreage, its the wife's daily commuter. Could definitely see its potential for a wheeling tire. I would say that the Duratrac would probably pull better in mud. The tread pattern is a lot tighter on the Territory, also I think the Duratrac probably has a beefier sidewall, I think its got that Kevlar carcass?

I had a set of the Duratracs on the Durango and they have the same carcass as the MTR. The only difference is the tread itself it's different and harder compound than the MTR. Also if you look at the tread wear and traction letters on the sidewall of the territory and Duratracs the territory is not rated very high and is a much harder compound.

That being said, the territory had pretty good reviews on the CT website and you can't beat the price

Got them on last night. They are 265/75R16s Goodyear Territorys(studded of course). The Territory is similar to the Duratrac but much cheaper. Not as aggressive or strong of sidewall. They measure 31.6"(not actual just did the math) but don't get excited you won't be seeing this on the trail. Its got IFS in the front after all.

So far we've been really enjoying it. Wife can't wait for it to snow now that the new tires are on.

Picked up a used tire machine a few weeks age. Was REALLY missing the one I used at the airport. Used it to mount the tires up. Threw 5 oz of BBs in the rims for balancing, worked great.

I'm still running Rafs tires, they are working great, I have no complaints. I tend to run them at 12psi, never had an issue

Haha all good Serge :) I think it absolutely squirts Tubby off that people keep asking him if he moved to where my jeeps parked now  ::)
