Axel housing length help
« on: March 24, 2012, 02:09:29 PM »
So am almost done building a trailer out of a old MJ box. I need to order a axel on Monday and I need to know the brake drum face to brake drum face length so once it is in the tiers will sit in the correct place.

Thank You for your help guys
Why does your Jeep say Toyota on it?
The obstacle is the path.

Mounting flange to mounting flange is 56".   So 56" would be the minimum number.

lol... 3 different numbers...  I guess it will also depend on the wheels and backspacing you have...   you want to match XJ right - time to dig out the measuring tape

I'm sure that you'll forgive us if we ask for a second opinion when it comes to trailer axles, El Presidente.....
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

Need we say more?

I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

OK.  I had to settle this before it turned into a 5 page discussion ::)

56" is a useless number.    My MJ measures at 61" (WMS to WMS)  but I might be out by 1/2" or so because it's hard to measure with the tires  on.

Nice Picture Kevin.     The Burrow just needed a few wrinkles worked out and is now the ultimate Jeep trailer.
