Rear storage
« on: April 08, 2012, 08:11:40 PM »
So after getting tired of having a mess of stuff in the back to go wheeling and since I'll be moving my spare out of the Jeep soon, I decided I could do a bit to organize my storage area. Drawers are 18" wide and 34.5" long and 4.5" deep. I used 22", 100lb drawer slides. Just have to make the second drawer front and carpet the while thing.

Nice job, I'll be doing something similar to my TJ when I get some time.

Can you get the drawer slides at any hardware store? I was wanting to make something like this for my pathfinder..
1998 Dodge Ram Reg Cab Short Box, lift and 35's going on it over the winter along with 4:10's

I got them at Home Depot, they have them in the hardware section. They are $18 for a pair (one drawer).

Finished it off tonight.

Carpet done, drawer fronts and latches, ARB compressor mounted.

You may want to install another set of latches if you get the drawer weight higher. Starting and stoping will eventually pull the screw out if it's only on one side, due to the twisting of the drawer.
But it's looking good, very nice workmanship.

Have you thought about spraying them with the spray rocker guard? Would give a little extra protection to the inside of your boxes and help protect them if anything was to leak.
