vacuum hose hanging from transfer case?
« on: May 21, 2006, 10:00:43 PM »
 My friend says there is a vacuum hose hanging down from her transfer case. I'm too far away to get over for a look. They can't see where the other end goes to. 1989 Cherokee Ltd, Automatic, 4L 6cyl. Does anybody have an idea on this one?

could be the breather hose.  google search might help them with pics and locations depending on their tc

chances are it is the vacuum line that runs the vacuum pump for the front diff.

It sounds like it is the front differential we are dealing with here. She described the axles coming out of each side of the unit; the transfer case would be further back (I assume there is still a separate transfer case). In this case, what kind of unit are we looking for; what kind of shape/size; will it be under the hood; on the firewall etc., wires/vac hoses on it?
Thanks a bunch.
