TJ/LJ Fender Flare Removal & Rivet Nuts

Removing Stock Flares on my LJ and came across some dirty little Rivet Nuts. Metalcloak recommends drilling these. Any other suggestions or is this the best way to go here. I'm not even sure I can get a drill in there! Thanks in advance.

Heat up the plastic flares around the hardware and they'll slide off pretty easy.
Then you have better access to cut those things out.
Just don't post them up for sale here after
