Check Engine Light

SO my check engine light has been on for a bit now...I did the "turn the ignition on and off three times" thing and got the check engine codes.  Then went on the internet and found out what the codes mean
This is what I got:
12 = number of key on's since last fault
35 = fault in fan relay curcuit
33 = Fault in air conditioning cutout relay curcuit (I dont have AC)
41 = Fault in the charging system or no feild current

I can turn a few bolts and what not...but I dont know what bolts to turn lol..  This morning on the way to work, I stopped at the store for a pack of cigs, came out, and the damn thing had a dead batt....so I've replaced the batt and it starts fine again, but the check engine light is still on, and has been on for about a month now as I havent had time to tinker yet.

Any knowledge would be good knowledge

thanks in advance,
Ken

Check the altenator (sp?) maybe its dead and not charging your battery. If your new battery goes dead then thats probably it.

yeah thats what would be most obvious, and what I figured first....but then again my check engine light has been on, with two amps for speakers, headlights and what not...for about a month now...and my batt was very old...so I figured it shoulda killed it alot sooner then a month right...so I wouldnt rule out the alt. yet (I am going to check it)  but any other ideas from the info above??

Maybe with the 2 amps your alt. wasn't keeping up and eventually just died from being over worked. ever have any problems with slow cranking when trying to start?
