if you're gonna goto the trouble you could also swap an 8.8. would be the same if you have to grind off perches on a 44. plus you can find them readily available in 3.73.  find one of those, swap it, and swap in a ZJ V8 D30 with 3.73 gearing, and that could tide you over until your ready to drop 3500$ on gears/lockers/install.
 the jump from 3.07 to 3.73 isn't a lot, but it'd be better than 33s and 3.07s
you can always swap your rear diff first, then build it later.
