Steering column interchange
« on: May 24, 2014, 06:58:33 AM »
Hi everybody, newbie here. My Jeep of choice is a 1991 XJ, 4.0, AX15, and what I'd like to know is what other years and models of Jeeps would have the same steering column as mine? Mine come with tilt and cruise also. Reason why I ask is because I just picked this rig up a few weeks back, and I got it from the previous owner as a theft recovery which he never claimed to his insurance company. Now I've replaced the vent window but I'm still looking to repair or replace the steering column. The only part I can't replace on this one is the sleeve which goes around the lever that slides down to let you turn the ignition lock cylinder when you turn the unit off.
I keep searching the usual places like Pick'n'Pull and Bucks, but if I knew what other models would work I could expand my search.
Anyone have any ideas? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks , Myron.
