Couple exhaust questions...
« on: June 04, 2014, 08:35:17 AM »
Any exhaust shops in Calgary or area stand out as doing excellent work or experienced with jeeps and their needs due to suspension articulation and exhaust routing? Also, any real harm in cutting rear section of exhaust off and doing a simple "turndown" just after muffler and just before rear axle? Any real danger of fumes entering the tub if the exhaust does not exit right at the rear of the vehicle or other issues? Never had to  mess with exhaust before but I'm having some contact issues between rear tracbar and rear section of exhaust that goes over rear axle.Thanks.

Al at Calgary Muffler. No appts, just drive in and get it done. They have done 2 jeeps that needed custom work for me.
They do hot rods, etc. Very good pricing too.
right beside what used to be Johhny Rocket carwash.

With regards to the turn down before the rear axle.  I ran the TJ that way for a few years and it was pretty loud and obnoxious but it didn't gas me out.

If you're interested I have the exhaust still ... I'd let it go cheap ($100 ... from header to tip.. includes 02 sensors and cats) and you could run it and see how you like it without spending big bucks to get something custom bent up.

Thanks, I will give it some thought. What year was it off of? Mileage on the cats/sensors?

04 TJ.  cats/sensors had 56K on them.  Muffler maybe 3K.
