I have a '96 and a '94 XJ, and a 2013 Rubicon now.  Both XJs are original to my family, so I know them well.  I brought the '94 back from Vancouver Island a couple of years ago because my gf needed a vehicle and my father wasn't driving it anymore (it was just sitting in a garage).  Then I bought the '13 Rubicon, and took the '96 out to the island to use whenever I was there.  Dad has since passed away, and now I have all 3 in Calgary.  I don't drive the '96 anymore, but it still works just fine.
The '96 has over 380,000 km on it, still on the original clutch, and everything is mechanically fine.  I drove it from the island back to Calgary in January with no issues at all.  The issues with it though, are: rust, doors not working properly, the driver's seat wobbles (something is broken underneath), and the hood release is broken, so I have the hood always cracked open.  It's got lots of tread left on the DuraTracs though.
So I'm considering just keeping it as a parts car for the '94 (which is in nearly perfect condition), or maybe get rid of it.  I could build it up as a trail rig, but I'd rather spend the money on the Rubicon, or some other priorities, so that probably wouldn't happen for many years.
Any thoughts?
