WJ Heater Core Replacement

So has anyone done the heater core replacememt on a 99 Grand Cherokee Limited ( WJ ).
Is it as BAD as it looks in the manual and online videos.
Any advise ??
I need to do this before winter.

I am performing this procedure in the near future. There is a series of videos on YouTube re: dash removal that should be helpful. Looks more time consuming than difficult.
If you want to run with the big dogs you have to be able to pee in the tall grass.

My understanding is the blower motor eventually breaks the plastic vents when they open and close as well  as the heater core problem.  Supposedly there is a co in the US that makes better vents, clips et al that will stand up to the motor or u risk doing it again for the vents in a year. You go in thru the glove box and cut a piece out and replace it with the stronger vent.  If I find the name I will post it, ARBXJ
