Shoot, for a POSSIBILITY of a $115.00 fine, why bother stopping if you're involved in an accident?

But if her license is revoked, how the hell are they going to tax fine her again and again to refill the city's coffers?

Every little helps :)

She'll have to pay to retake her test again, and again, and again. I'm certain that a driver THAT bad won't pass it on her 3rd attempt.
if we were smart with our money we wouldn't own Jeeps.
Here's your cup of STFU... ENJOY!

If that SUV was a rusted out p.o.s., buddy woulda been thrown in jail.
Hey, you got fare jumpers on C-Train that do 3 days in Calgary Remand for not paying their fare.
You have No Insurance offenders that do 45 days.
Blow up a Quebec town by a defective under-insured train, let them slide.
Have a newer vehicle run the red, with copper right there, let them slide, must be donut break time.
Rusted out p.o.s. let them rot in jail, lose their livelyhood.
Let the Richie Riches slide.
Makes me wanna puke!

A Section 69(1) charge for failure to remain would never have held up in court. It requires that a driver involved in a collision remain at the scene or, if they do leave, return immediately.

As for the other cases you pointed out, serving the equivalent time in remand in lieu of paying a fine has always been an option in Calgary. And three people are facing charges of criminal negligence causing death for the Lac Megantic disaster.

under-insured, under-safetied, company hauling dangerous goods with lack of government oversight. I place the blame squarely on our p.o.s. government!
