How can you recommend I not do something when you have no idea what I'm doin with the jeep.
Yeah, its a tech forum, where we discuss tech. Just because the tech you asked about it 15 years out of date and sucks.
Spring over is outdated tech that significantly hinders the ability of your rig. If you are doing the spring over so you can slap 37's on your YJ and park at the mall then all the power to you. At that point, we are not talking tech and this bullshit belongs on Beyond.ca.
This is a wheeling forum with wheeling tech. Meaning we are not in the habit of advising people how to "look badass" for the sake of "looking badass".
If you are doing it with the intention of ever taking it on a trail then stop now, do some reseach and learn what everyone else has known for over a decade.
SPRING OVERS SUCK
To much height renders the driveline almost non functional.
Excessive spring wrap results in very poor climbing behavior and requires a custom link/traction bar to even "sort of" work
Spring over reults in way more height than required for any YJ build which results in poor handling and major instability on the trail
The flat spings used for springs fatiqued incredibly fast making them a ton of work and money replacing all the time.
The list goes on and on and on.
You can run 35's on a YJ with a 2-4" lift, 1" body lift and TJ flares. 35's are the max tire you can run on stock axles without major headaches.
Want to talk tech? Thats tech. Want to talk cheap shortcuts using old tech thats been out of date for over a decade? Go ahead. Doesnt mean we are going to agree with it, or recommend it for you.
