Still running hot.
« on: June 24, 2023, 02:57:01 PM »
I had some good advice at the Jeep show to seal up the gaps around my radiator so more air can flow through it. I sealed it up quite tight but the temperature still went to 230.
Can anyone suggest a mechanic that might have some experience with over heating? I am pretty much out of ideas and patience. Thanks in advance.

If you find one can you please let me know. Mine gets to 122C for coolant temp. I’ve had the water pump replaced( separate issue) and thermostat, coolant temp sensor and radiator fan replaced $$$$. Still runs hot and fan runs and runs. I am at a loss.

I’m putting it into the radiator shop on Blackfoot on the 12th. I’ll let you know how it goes.

So I pulled my fans out this morning and took the Jeep for a drive on the ring road. I figured either it heats up and the water pump is the culprit or it stays cool and it’s the fans fault. Well it was at 230 now it was 175 then 190 in the neighborhood. It went back up to 230 when I parked it but expected that. Any suggestions on a specific single fan? I have a double flexalite one right now with an aluminum shroud. Not sure we’re to start looking for a single. Any suggestions will be great. Thanks.

I’ve always been a fan of the stock fan and clutch setup, simple, reliable and generally are a set and forget type deal.
