Hey everyone i just bought a 2003 Jeep TJ Completly Bone stock when i bought it. I have had it since sept 2 and i have already done some 4wheeling and i have new respect for jeeps lol. i have done some minor mods like a k and n air filter and a set of offroad lights. My Future plans are a small lift and make a good trail runner. I look forward to meeting most of you guys / girls. you can check out my web site for pics of my jeep.

i am almost always on the trails just have to find some people to go with lol bad idea to go alone. i have been to wiaprous off road area twice didn't really 4wheel hard just enough to learn what a jeep can do :D :D :D and i was impressed

Yeah, you definately don't want to head out alone. It's surprising how fast you can get yourself into trouble! Usualy every weekend, sombody is wheeling somewhere, so there is no shortage of trail rides.

Just a heads up since you are a new member of the forum. Most of the guys on the site prefer you to have a CB radio on trail rides. I know cause i had to miss out on a couple waiting for mine to get delivered.

So what are you trying to say about me their Jaguar.  Yes I know I have gotten myself into trouble sometimes, but I managed to get out  8) .

Welcome to the club and you might as well start sucking up to one of the offroad shops because they start taking you paychecks pretty quick.

ok so i hoped in my jeep this morning and tried to start her and nothing happen it isn't the first time that this has happend i depress the clutch and turn the key and nothing did that a couple of times and about the fourth or fith time it finally started. i checked the battery and she is fully charded and i have no clue what it is  :(  :(  :(  :(  :(  any suggestions would be great

Jason - Welcome.  Aside from colour your TJ is very similar to mine, right down to the wheels.  Do you have dual tops?

In addition to the CB, you'll need front and rear tow points.  I specified mine when I bought the Jeep so they were installed when I took delivery, but I note from the photos you're going to have to pop for some.  They're fairly reasonable:

I believe on the last open stocker run a looped end tow strap was also required.  I picked up a 30', 20,000 lb one locally and think I paid too much.  I've since seen better deals in Calgary.

Sounds like it might be the neutral safety switch.

If it does it again, try 4 low right away. Pretty sure most TJ's neutral switch is set to by pass in 4 low.

There should be write ups all over the place on how to bypass it. If it does it again, look into that.

Otherwise, have someone listen at the starter. If the solenoid is clicking when you hit the key, the starter may be starting to wear out.

If you tap it with a hammer and it fires up, thats your problem.

To replace the starter, get an autovalue one and keep the receipt. They go often, and autovalue has good warrenties.

When I had the clutch problem on the trail last month the neutral switch was still an issue, even in four low. We had to bypass the switch with a fuse in the auto slot of the fuse box.
