Hey Guys..I need someone who has done a 350/350 swap into a YJ..I have heard many different ideas/thoughts-but I want someone to clear them up..I have access to all the parts--motor/tranny/t-case and even scout dana 44s-but I have been told that this combo wont fit into my jeep. People have told me that with the TH350 or TH400 the length will be too long and my rear d/shaft will be too short..---I know it can be done with the kits available, but whats all required...besides welding in new motor mounts.....please help
Not a small job, but you can definately make it fit.
Need an electric fan. Rad conversion. All the wiring, harness, and ecu if doing injection.
Pretty much cant do any lift with a Chevy tranny t-case combo, unless you stretch the rear.
You want a chevy 205 or the aluminum version to minimize driveline length.
You can do a Blue torch fab fuel cell and stretch the rear end 6 inches, which would help immensely.
You could adapter plate your chev motor to your existing t-case and tranny, but probably not the strongest option.
You could put in a chevy 4 speed truck tranny, which is a populay choice because they are short.
You'll need to fab new tranny crossmember, exhaust routing, motor mounts, etc etc
You'd need to address all your gauges.
You should start out by purchasing Novaks small block chevy swap manual. Its about 25$, and worth every penny. A lot of good info in there. For instance, there is a YJ smallblock swap in there where they kept the stock t-case using the tranny out of an S10 or something to that effect.
Take your time, and do a ton of research before you even attemp to begin.
Good luck
