Reverse is all the way to the right and down.  The pattern is basically

1     3      5
       N
2     4        R

Hope that helps

Sorry bud...have you ever taken a driving course?   If you have not... spend the money and do it. Your insurance will go down also.

Please don't take this the wrong way but... It's kind of scarry that you don't know where reverse is  .

PLEASE practice in a deserted parking lot before hiting the road. Get a good feel of your vehicule. I've been driving for 22 years (that's scarry too) and when I buy a new vehicule... I alway "test" how it handles in a deserted lot.

Sorry bud but everyday I see "challenged drivers" on the street of Calgary that should not have any business driving a 3000Lbs vehicule on the public roads.

if you have more questions PLEASE don't be affraid to ask... we'll do our best to help.
 :D
Cheers

ummm keep in mind that there is a lockout for reverse that will not allow you to shift from fifth directly into reverse........keeps you from puking out your tranny on the deerfoot

ive got a 91 yj and it likes to slip out of reverse, but not knowing how to get your jeep/standard into reverse is a problem. it doesnt cost very much to take a driving course, i think 300. but like what was said before you would make that back within your first year of insurance payments, and hitting a little car in your jeep is not one thing that you or anyone else wants to hear about, and can be avoided if you can properly and responsibly drive your vehicle. and a lifted vehicles and rear-wheel-drive vehicles are not always the best starter vehicle. now i dont want you to take this the wrong way, im just tring to help and putting in my 2cents, but safety is the priority.
