Back in the game(the money spending game)
« on: February 02, 2008, 09:51:00 PM »
Well I finally found a replacement for my much loved 98 TJ that I sold last Aug :'(. I bought a mint condition 2002 Jeep TJ Sahara, fully loaded with A/C and cruise, the well regarded NV3550 5 speed, and the dana 44 rear axle. This one owner, never modded, and never seen a trail, jeep, only has 64,000kms and it's my favorite color to boot...GREEN!!!!! ;D ;D Anyways....here we go again...let the build begin and the money flow(out of my bank account) and the Visa bills reach for the sky! ::) Oh well...you only live once...I think? ???

LOL!!!! You are sure right about that Dan! I've had plans on paper since about last Oct, just couldn't find the right jeep for the right price. ::) Well I won't go into detail about the build plan just yet(suspension and axle wise), I will just say that I'm planning on keeping it fairly mild ;) ??? as the number of difficult trails is few and far between and I'm going to concentrate on preparing the jeep for extended camping trips in remote locations. First projects will not even involve suspension work...installing 100% duty cycle electric on-board air, winch, rock sliders, dual battery system, CB, swingout tire/jerrycan carrier, custom rear stoage box with slide out drawers, snorkel, and congo cage roof rack. Of course the very first "project" will be removing the front pontoons on the bumper! ;D ;D

Well, have fun. I said mine was going to be a "mild" build this time too, but it seems like it's a trickle effect. Everytime I do one thing, it causes me to have to do another...it never ends, but I love it.

Sounds like your build will be similar to mine, and built for the same reasons.

Here's where I'm at right now...(I need to post up new pics)

The build is looking good Dan...ya I think you are pass the mild point now ::). As for mine staying mild...well you know how it goes...in the back of my mine I keep thinking about 36" IROKS :o ::). I will try to resist as long as possible and be content with the 33" tires that are in my current build plan :-\. But, I do know that my jeep will look expedition ready...I've always loved that style of offroad vehicle builds 8) 8).

Well the idea of a "mild" build didn't last long ::)...picked up a 4.5" RE Superflex suspension, 1" PA bodylift, and 1" Currie motor mounts today ;D ;D...looks like I'm going to run 35's or 36's.
