Chev EST timing
« on: December 27, 2007, 04:27:22 PM »
Has anyone or does anyone know how to trick the EST timing and wiring for distributor pickup on the 4.3 TBI harness and system for the ECM. I have a complete system on my 4.2 that is not running as the computer is looking for the signal to send grounds to the TBI to open the injectors. I do know that Howell bypasses this some how for their computer and harness. I will eventually use an HEI for this and get rid of the duraspark system. Donor harness and parts where off of 1990 blazer.

I've completed my junkyard conversion of a 4.3 ltr TBI onto my 4.2 with a 4.0 ltr head. Works very well.

I managed to turn my stock distributor into a external HEI type using the module from the 4.3 distributor and the complete coil set up. The EST is working and preforms very well.  No morte duracrap or vacuum advance.

The whole TBI  conversion, fabricated all myself including a newer pick 'n pull rad for just under total of $200, not including Beer.
