Mcullough flats, can't go there no more, all given back to the natives.  Used to be a cool spot.  So too was Little White, closed as well.   I used to live there too.  Chute lake, Postill Lake, Bear Lake main, all have some nice trails.  I would check out crawlinbc.com, bc4X4x.com, or funinbc.com and ask what is open and if you can join a trail run.  There is lots of Crown land around there, so you can explore, but I would suggest going with another vehicle with someone that knows the trails so you don't get in toooo much trouble.

I've heard the same thing, people on horses and in trucks with guns....    I left for alot of reasons, the local scene is "sketchy" at best, but I visit often.  I plan to take a few trips out there this year.

Did some wheeling there weekend after May Long.

Peachland Lk area has a load of areas to explore, following the W side of 97C (Coq Connector). There's a network of roads from that area that will take you all the way through to Whipsaw.  Thompson/Okanagan BRMB would be a good place to start.
If yer looking for an over nighter, or better yet have 3 days to kill.....Whipsaw itself.
