YJ light wiring
« on: August 24, 2008, 01:10:34 PM »
My inertior wiring harness is pooched and I'm getting feedback electricity into my signal light switch. The signal lights on both sides flash no matter what side you signal. My side markers are flashing alternately with my signal lights. Any help would be appreciated. If some one has a new interior harness for sale please PM me.
Thanks, Fred

Check all your turn signal bulbs , if a signal light bulb  filliment breaks and touches the running light filliment , cross talk can happen . I've seen it before , watched two guys at work spend hours looking for a problem that was simply a bad bulb.

My interior light went out some time ago , it was a fuse  in the power distribution box beside the battery, an easy fix that could have led to hours of searching had I not looked at fuses first.

Thanks Gearhead,
I found my problem and it was very simular to what you discribed.
You see when some idiot lifted the body off the frame he forgot to free up the trailer wiring.
When the body was lifted off the insulation broke and exposed and the trailer light wires.
I saw it and told myself to make a note of it when It came time to put the Jeep back together.

I wish it only took a few hours, Ive been chasing this for a week.
