Been a while, and had some overheating problems with the girl. I tossed in a new thermostat, and instantly had several leak problems from the housing....6 tries I think, but it's stopped. Brushed the floor and painted it gloss Tremclad black, then onto the softtop....in an unheated garage.
So how do you get one of these on in an unheated garage? Put two space heaters very carefully INTO the jeep, and drape the top over....the garage was making my breath clouds appear, but the top was toasty enough to fit.
Need to work on the steering, as the box is leaking and the steering is freaking scary.....50km/hr is scary enough.

Hard to see with the flash, but they are a nice charcoal grey right now, much darker than they look. Not sure if I am going to make them black, or leave as is. Hmmm....think bout that one for a bit. I used the DuPont Fabic paint from Auto Value, as Wally World only has the yellow left. If you have a Wally World near you, they are probably blowing out this fabric paint, so pick some up if the colour is something you want that doesn't make you vomit.
The two rattle cans I used tonight were the Tremclad and the DuPont. The DuPont paint sprays in a much finer mist and has less tendancy to run. If I was doing a full rattle can job on this rig, I would go to a paint supplier and order some rattle cans that have a nice atomized (sp?) spray instead of the cheapo brands. Makes a huge difference.
Anyway, onto the floor....rolled Tremclad gloss. I went gloss, as I have found in the past that flat tends to collect dirt, something about the surface compared to gloss. I want to be able to clean out the inside easily if I have to, so gloss it was. Here's the primed floor:
And here is the first paint coat:
Wow. Everything looks dull and dusty compared to that floor....no need for a dome light I guess. lol
