XJ rear sag

I just bought a 2001 XJ as a daily driver and I think I'm just going to keep it stock for now but the rear end sags low. I'm not looking to lift it any more than stock or maybe just an inch or so, but I'm not sure of the best way to do it without  killing my ride quality. I like the way it drives as it is right now, I just want to be able to put 4 people in it with gear in the back. I've read about the AAL's and heard good and bad about them. Any ideas? Surely someone on here has a stock xj.

Apparently XJs are prone to this sagging. I haven't had this problem yet (knock on wood). The rear leafs sit pretty flat to begin with....
Spend the extra little bit and get full replacement springs. AAL are just a band-aid, IMHO.

If you don't plan to tow or wheel then an AAL would be a good option for you and much cheaper than full packs. You could also go the wrecker and get some individual leafs to add to your leak pack.

Standen's will re-arch them and add an extra leaf for you. You should sit 1" higher in the rear anyway.
Don't do the AAL...if you do, the aal will be carrying he weight of the Jeep and will sag again very quickly (short aal's can actually break your spring pack). Springs from the wrecker are a crap shoot...since there is no weight on them, you don't know if they are good or not. That's alot of work just to find out they are the same. Any aftermarket spring pack you buy will ride stiffer. The skyjacker packs ride a little softer, but sag very quickly.

For the same cost standens can make you a set of springs that flex and still take a load. Just got to ask/tell them what you want to do. They do not do lifts but will do a couple of inches above stock. They also manufacture springs for some lift kit companies. Had some installed a few years ago and was impressed how they flexed.

I undertand that getting the Leafs re-arched is the best solution..but could he not just add some shackles as a temp fix & when ready to do the leafs, he will always have these for a lift apllication? Just asking?
