Meadow Creek/Margaret Lake July 18
« on: July 12, 2009, 11:07:22 PM »
The kidlets have expressed in interest in going out to see the bridge we participated in building.  Anyone else wanna go out that way...maybe go see Margaret Lake too?  We've never been out to Margaret.

Hmmmmm..... I'll see if I can find an altenator, then let you know.
I would love to see that area in the summer time.

T
if we were smart with our money we wouldn't own Jeeps.
Here's your cup of STFU... ENJOY!

Sounds good.  I think Aaron got my fresh spare alternator(ATI built-Rich) & if memory serves correctly isn't most of his spare stuff stored at your place? :D

I'll get my CB antenna working this week & prolly get the fuel tank skid on as well ;).

I am in for a trip to Margaret Lake as I have not been there before either.
Also I haven't spent a lot of time out in Waiparous so it would be nice to explore there a bit.
Seen lots of MacLean already.
Keep us posted on the meeting place/time

Wow...looks like we might have a nice little group on the go here ;).  I have'nt been out there since last year(Meadow Creek) so wondering if anyone else has been out there more recently that will be willing to lead us.

Don't know about the rest of you but I'm thinking maybe meet at the Smitty's in Cochrane at about 9 & head out from there.  Not looking for a long, hard day so thinking about trying to get back to Cochrane for supper around 6, maybe 7.

Any other ideas?

He's probably talking about the first bridge as you're headed ewst on Meadow Creek. That's the one that was last year's trail project IIRC.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

I've run Waiparous a few times so far this year...  runs to the falls for the most part...  trail was in good shape a few weekends ago.  Lots of mud if you're looking for it... haha

Guess it mostly depends where you go in... if you take the first left past the staging area theres some good mud... if you take the last left down Waiparous Valley Road... just be aware that there is a log'd section of road that has to be passed and last time i was out there... it was DEEP.

I might be able to convince the lady to go for a ride...  or at least let me...  i have no CB though, so if thats required... im out.

I'll keep tabs on this post and see where it goes.

Well, its a road through... you're talking about the same thing... the guy i was with said it was a "new road" dont ask me how new... cause im new enough to the area that everything is still fairly new.

However... the long and the short of it... people were turning around... it was pretty badly rutted out and the mud was DEEP.  I've got an XJ, 4" lift... 31" mud tires... i drag'd myself through it... but i have a winch as a backup as well.

Just a heads up is all... stockers might not enjoy pounding through that path... might actually be easier to go in the other way "long way around" to avoid it.

I think that new road you are talking about goes being camp Camisle you don't have to take it thought.  We went down it on frasers run a few weeks ago and it was pretty bad then.  There are a few easier ways to get around it if you stay close to the river bed.

Thought they blocked the path by the river...  by blocked... i mean the rock that was close enough to the bank that was giving way that most wouldnt drive their jeeps on it anymore...  haha   Possibly another way around...  i only knew the 2...  who knows!  Learn something new every time im out there.

hmm...maybe it did.  I seem to remember it being passable last time I was out there...but its been a few weeks.  I guess we will all find out when we get there, if we go in that way.
