If it was me, I would see if someone here has a boroscope, pull the #2 plug and have a look inside. If no one here has one it is a great excuse to buy one. I saw one at calgary fasteners for around 300 bucks..... I would lend you the one I have at work but it is a 10,000 $ boroscope. Heck I don't even want to open the case.
