Shifter knob
« on: June 14, 2010, 12:17:21 PM »
I have found this awesome rock that I want to make into my shifter knob  :)  But I don't know who to speak to  that can drill and put a threaded insert into it.

Anyone have a way to do this or know someone who can?

Cheers!

If you have a drill, you can try some masonry drill bits (CT or PA).  Start small and work your way up in size. Go slow and keep a trickle of water going at the bit while drilling.

Practice on other rocks, missy.

Then after YOU have drilled the hole in the rock (being uber careful not to damage it...) attach it to the shift stick using an epoxy...
