He sure does, and yes he wears the train conductor hat!  :D He also has his cane that he threatens to bash you on the head if you aren't listening.

UGH!

Mr.Randy Paul is still teaching at SAIT? I graduated the AST program in 94 and he wore that ridiculous hat then too...and a pink sweater...

Thumbs up for SAIT and it's AST program though. I got into the automotive field within 3 months of graduating.

if you choose work over school then avoid doing an apprenticeship in a dealership. you see very little of whats actually out there. i work in a dealer now and see how the apprentices do very little real work. i did my apprenticeship in a general shop and got to work with everything out there. gives you a good perspective on whats out there. at this point in my career i enjoy the dealership (most days) and what it has to offer. good luck.

Nobody hires a 1st year apprentice, they usually cost you money. Unless you have an "in" with shop or know someone you'll have a hard time getting.

Best you can hope for is to get on as a tire buster, washer, general labourer, etc. They'll work you in that area for 6 months to a year and then give you the oppertunity of applying for an Apprenticeship(competeing again 6 other guys).

The AST(or HET if you want to do Heavy Duty) is really your best bet.

Try platinum mitsubishi. They are hiring apprentices. Talk to Branden Lahey.

Apply now for the fall as it fills up fast. If it is full get on the waiting list. I was 10th on the waiting list when I went and still got in about 2 months before the program started.
