No recovery strap yet though

If you have a winch, you will want a tree saver and d-ring to go with it. You don't want to end up wrapping that winch cable around a tree.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

A snatch block allows you to make a stronger pull over a shorter distance using mechanical advantage. It's not vital that you have ont, but you'll eventually want one for your winch.

The tree saver and a clevis (d-ring) is a must-have. That's how you attach your winch line to your anchor point. Like 37sandrunning said, Modern Motors on Blackfoot carries them at a very good price.

Snatch blocks can also change the direction of your pull with a snatch block. Basically think of it like a pully that you can winch around corners with, or hook up to yourself to increase the mechanical advantage of your pull as W Squared said.

Tied up this weekend, but was out there on Saturday. Run to the falls was great and surprisingly dry. The river crossings are the lowest I've seen too.

Have fun!

Sounds good.

I will be in a light green 2007 Wrangler Unlimited (4 door) Rubicon (stock).

You can see Smitty's from Highway 22 on the left (west)  as you drive north into Cochrane. It is south of Hwy 1A.

See you guys tomorrow. I will probably arrive early at Smitty's and have breakfast before we head out. So, if anyone else wants to show up early and eat look for my Jeep and I am 6' 2" tall and will be in a long sleeve black shirt and black cargo pants.

Looking forward to the fun and learning!

Jeff

Just got home, what a day :o

Thanks to everyone who stopped when I had the death wobble and to Jason especially for his side of the road fix and his unstoppable winch.

If anyone has any, could I get some pics?  [email protected]
