JK Bumper Caps
« on: December 06, 2011, 10:50:21 PM »
Hi There,

I was looking at these bumper caps.
http://www.gemini-sales.com/product.cgi?group=20637&product=20961

has anyone on here installed these? I have read on other forums that the color doesn't match. Can anybody speak to that?

whats your opinion are these worth the time and money or should i get a whole new bumper? it's a 2011 4dr JK.

thanks.

Matt

I dont drive a JK, but when i took the caps off my XJ I just left it as is. For that price, for what you gain, id do the same.. No one is gonna come up to your Jeep in the safeway parking lot and say HOLY HELL THATS UGLY WITH NO CAPS MATE!

Use a square,  and cut it off straight up an down and leave it till you get the bumper you want :) looks fine with no caps :) Plus, once you take it out to Mclean an run up the crack, you will probably find you come out of there with no caps anyways ;)
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

The description of the caps says that you gain "agressive look and approach angle" which is true. What it does not say it that the stock bumper (in full width or in trimmed form) provides very little protection against much of anything, and will take a gawd-awful beating if you wheel. If I were you I would save your money and just buy a metal bumper.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(
