Wheel adapters?

The utility trailer my dad built 50 yrs ago has a bolt pattern that's not 5 on 4.5 like the ZJ, it's like 5 on 5.5 or something weird.  Is there such a thing as a spacer/adapter I could use so I can run the 'spare' Jeep wheels on the trailer?

I have seen them online before Rob.  You will need to use 2" spacer/adapters though so that the trailer axle hub does not interfere with the wheel.

Yeah thanks Kev ;).  Been looking online.  Just thought someone here has had some experience with this before.  To run the old stock ZJ wheels gunna need to space em out anyway.  Thought about getting different hubs too but would still need to have spacers to deal with backspacing ???.

Yeah gotta go measure the bolt pattern on the trailer again.....can't remember.  Trying to source some locally.  Phoning around once I have the measurement.  Any suggestions for someone that'll have inventory?

See what adpters are worth and compair it to the cost of a new axle from princess auto. I picked my axle up when it went on sale for 100. As well on the plus side the bolt pattern is 5-4.5  so the jeep rims will fit with no problems.

I've got 2 spacers(NIB) that are 5.5 to 5.4 that will allow you to run your spare Jeep wheels Rob.

Rob, do yourself a big favour and just replace the axle.

I bought a brand new 3,500lb axle with 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern built to my specs complete with new lug nuts and U-bolts from Standens for the grand total of $197.00 including GST.
I phoned the order in one morning at 7:00 and an they called me the following morning at 7:30 advising it was ready to pick up. It took me an hour to swap it and that including painting the axle.
Oh yeah, the new axle was equipped with E-Z Lube hubs for easy servicing.
You can order it with a wider WMS to WMS to accommodate the the additional backspacing of the typical Jeep rims.

I don't know what the adaptors are worth but I'd think at least 50 bucks a piece so your half way there.

If you don't decide to replace the axle, Canadian Wheel has adapters in stock usually.

Yeah thanks guys but I went through that whole axle thing last year.  Tried the PA axle but dimensions were all wrong so had one built at Standen's for close to the same money but not just a 1200 lb axle but a 3500 lb axle with both over and under spring perches.  Thing is, I had them match the hubs to the wheels I already had for the trailer, therefore track width and bolt pattern are what they are.  Now in hindsight....... ::)

Anyways, looks like Spidertrax and Roughcountry have the adapters.  Just gotta get em now.  Hope to find some on a shelf somewhere in Calgary ;D.
