It's always nice to have a winch but I think it would be ok (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Come along bud!

It is upto the trail leader, but if you don't have a winch and no lockers, it could make for a long day.

As for myself, I will have to see.  So Dom are you leading the trail then?

I've never did Fisher East Assault before because my rig didn't have specs. suggested (only had 31 w/ no winch and open diffs). and i'm not a big fan of mud.

It will be fun to run a trail that I have not done   . We'll see who shows up and knows the trail better.

I've heard it's just deep mud holes after deep mud holes...

You would need a winch if you have to be self sufficient on the trail. Like Pretty rock .... you have to winch yourself up some cutlines. It's almost impossible to turn around and winch someone up some hills.

How's Fisher East for that?

It would suck to do Fish East with no winch. There are times when we have had 4 different jeeps winching to 4 different spots. With no lockers and no winch  it might be a disaster.

Of course, if the trail is mainly frozen bottoms than you might be ok.  :)

The only caveat is that if one rig shows up with no winch, than others will too.
The other thing Dom is that some holes are off camber as well so a lot of flexing occurs.

Either way, you guys will have a long day, winch or no winch.

If i remember correctly, the CJA had a 33+ tire rule and a winch for this run, than the locked and loaded rubi came out on 31's and they were allowed too.

I was reading some of the postings on 4wheeler.ca on some trail runs on Fiasher east last week -end.  It looks NASTY out there...

Sorry Sean321... I have to change my mind after reading and seeing the pics/ comments I have to make having a winch a mandatory requirement!

Lemond-aid Jay had to do 2 recoveries last week-end because people went out there without proper equipment.

Thanks Tom for the input!!!  :D

Conditions will make a huge difference in what rig can run Fisher East.

When it was very dry one year, it was done on 31" M/Ts with open diffs and no winch - without any tugs or winching.  It was later in the summer and most of the mud holes were dry providing excellent traction.
