Done deal. This will be a template for the rest of Alberta

Trucks....56kms of which some is roadways.
Bikes...5kms of singletrack
Quads...over 500kms
2 Outfitters now OWN the entire Bar C/Trans Alta area.
Random camping very restricted.
Now is a $57 fine but the government is looking at increasing to a max $1000

Honorable David Coutts is a member of the Crowsnest Quad squad which just opened a chapter in Calgary
Hugh Pepper, Councillor of MD of Big Horn might be running a bed and breakfast with QUAD tours from his place in Waiporous.

Now I am not looking for a loop hole, but. what if you have modified your truck so heavily that it has been classified when you register it as a quad??

I think it is a long shot, and they are probably quad trails, but could we not all just go get quad plates for our trucks and trailer them in??

Hey Tom, bikes can travel on ALL open trails right?  Quads can only go on quad and truck trails, correct?

ps. in my opinion,  if true, there doesn't appear to be ANY   conflict of interest with local Waiparous politicians running OHV tours out of there house.

I agree with the fact that there needed to be more control or outright elimination of the various Raves, garbage, social abuse etc. out in Waiparous on the long weekends but hitting the responsible user with this is unjust.  On the news tonight the RCMP said it is a "zero tolerance" weekend...it should have been a zero tolerance "last 20 years" and this GAMP nonsense would never have happened.  I hope there will be further talks with OHV groups and the provincial government in the near future to make this a fair deal.

I'll shut up now before I say something I shouldn't.  Have a good safe weekend everyone, in whatever area we have left. 8)

Thanks

And a dark cloud came to settle over the Waiparous OHV area.  Just as the dark prophets declared when they unveiled GAMP.  They didn't listen to us, they didn't consider our options/opinions that were put forth.  They even had the gall to ask the OHV community to work only on projects on the very few trails they were willing to give us.  They knew that other trails would not be added.  I guess we worked on trails that we would be using, still, its sort of like asking the condemned to build the gallows     Yeah, we've been bent over and FUCKED!

this sucks
its the people that dont "tread lightly" so to speak that are ruining this for the rest of us. and GAMP wouldnt be so bad if there was more trails but the 56kms of trail is eventualy going to get absolutly demolished, no matter how good of care you take with it. Just the sheer amount of people that go out there on a regular baisis. i just hope that sooner rather than later their going to realize that GAMP was a bad idea with the extent of restricions, similar to the gun registry.
