Vulcanizing a tire/repair of side wall
« on: May 27, 2013, 09:16:29 AM »
I have a small hole in one of my side walls, was able to plug it closed with a finger and fill the tire on the trail but I would like it fixed and used as a spare because it still has 95% tread. Anyone know of a vulcanizing service here in calgary? some google searches came up with some tire companies that use to do it in the 30s.
Thanks all.

Is the finger still in there?
Who's finger was it?

Cal tire has done it for one of the members here a few times with his crawlers. But they send them out to have it done. Been a while. Not sure if they still offer it or not.

Please post up who fixes the tire so we know for the future. I have used the plug patches with success in the past from princess auto. Depends on size of hole. Internet picture.

I would love to write up a sidewall repair.  Thrown away three tires in two years from sides...
