Ok, so the cat is now out of the bag.  I have given my notice at the company I work with now, and instead of driving a company truck I get a truck allowance and a fuel card.

So I have narrowed it down now between a dodge 2500 diesel, or the ford f150 ecoboost.  I will be driving this truck daily between langdon and douglasdale area, with a few trips up to the oil sands yearly too.

The dodge 1500 is very limited weight wise in the bed due to the coil springs.  The ford can hold about 500-600 lbs more then the bed, and the 2500 diesel will not even know my trailer is here.

Now with this info, what would you choose?  Feel free to flame the ford, immortal drives one...

What are you doing with it? Towing? Filling the bed?

My choice for a work truck would be the 2500  diesel. Commercial duty moter for commercial work.

The 2500's have coils all around and urea injection now.  In my opinion, find a 2012 fully deleted 2500 / 3500 and don't look back

Drive 'em both. See which one you will be more comfortable in. With a longish daily commute and long highway trips every so often, you'll want something that you don't mind doing some miles in.

I have spent a fair amount of time driving fleet and rental F150's, and I like the new ones (not the smelly old ones like plumbers drive). I have not driven the dodge.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

I'd go with the f150. It will pull the trailer the 10 times a year that you'll have the trailer out. For the other 42 weeks of the year it will be a nice ride with decent gas mileage.
if we were smart with our money we wouldn't own Jeeps.

ecoboost is a good choice for daily driver, and since your going to haul a trailer once in a while, it will do what you want. 2500 if your going to haul quite a bit.
