Recently I have experienced a weird problem with my 04 TJ with factory wiring.
When I turn on my headlights once and awhile the high beam indicator comes on and stays on regardless of headlight setting. When this happens the high beams work as they should. However the low beams really come on slow and very dim. I can play around and some times they just fix themselves and then everything including the low beam intensity works normally.
It was only occasionally but now it is increasing in frequency. Research suggests the multifunction switch is the culprit but these symptoms are never listed.
The system acts like a lazy relay but it seems there are no relays in the headlight system. Scary! Am I missing something simple or is the old R&R parts trouble shoot in order?
Some folks on the net complain about the quality of after market multifunction switches, opinions, sources?
What does this beast cost?
