Winch line idea

I really like this idea.  I think I can be smart enough to tie a knot and open the weave in my winch line to do this.

I thought I saw pricing at 4-500$ on Facebook but I could be wrong. Seems steep for what it is.
 It makes sense though. Why add extra pieces if a simple soft shackle is just added to the rope itself.

Sorry I got clarification that it’s a complete winch rope with the soft shackle end. I thought it was piece you added on the end of a rope.

not likely I'd part with $500 USD for version 1.0 , v2.0 will most likely have a tree saver then a soft shackle, like the idea - website is https://freedomwinchline.com/product/pre-order-only-freedom-winch-line/ , inventor (bleepinjeep) has kept my xj running smooth

I know this is old but it seems to keep coming up on youtube still as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Now, I think it is good idea, but I don't think their argument against hooks and shackles is all that valid. 1) I have not seen a broken hook or shackle (unless you connect the line with undersized components) and 2) I can't imagine them shooting off in all directions if broken. The problem is very real with steel cables as they stretch over quite some length and the stored energy has to go somewhere when they snap. But, I don't think hooks or shackles stretch that much to spring into action when broken. I think just like synthetic winch line, they would just drop or fall apart. so I only see the savings in weight (and maybe simplicity - if you consider shackles cumbersome) but at quite a cost.

Also one could use a synthetic loop shackle I guess for all soft-and-synth setup instead of steel d-shackle to connect to a tree strap if weight is an issue. No need for expensive fancy rope. But I guess that is not as slick and tree savers are too heavy and "old school"...never mind the tree that prefers wider strap to spread the load and not cut into the trunk.
