Ok everyone, the cleanup is still on. I went out to McLean Creek this morning and they got a whole swack of snow. The roads are just wet, but there is some accumulation in the grassy areas, which could make for some wet feet so bring some waterproof boots!
The good news is that the weather there is warmer than here in Calgary thanks to the trees blocking the wind!! Bring warm clothes to keep you dry and some good gloves. I bought some bright orange waterproof ones for $7.99 at Marks Wearhouse and they were awesome last time.
We do need garbage bags, so if anyone would like to bring some, please do. Federal Metals will be donating the dump truck once again but we are not able to take it with us up the trails so you will have to bring a pickup if you have one so we can put the garbage in there until we make it back to the staging areas.
If you care to donate a couple bucks at the end of the day to go towards the dump cost that would be greatly appreciated...
A few of us will be camped in the campgrounds all weekend in the C LOOP, #117 & 118. Come by and say hi! After the cleanup if you care to come to the camp, we will be BBQ'ing up hotdogs for all the volunteers & warming up by the fire.
Details again are:
SATURDAY - 9:30am meet at the McLean Creek Store
10am - Divide into groups and head out to Fisher East/West to start the cleanup
After the cleanup is finished, head back to C 117 & 118 for some dogs, chips & pop
Hope to see everyone there! Thanks in advance for your time. There is no cell reception out there but if you need to get a hold of me, my cell is 710*9641. Call before about 6pm or I will be checking my messages tomorrow morning.
