Repairing a Fuel Line
« on: September 17, 2006, 07:20:47 PM »
So...I was happily cutting through my floorboard around my fuel pump going an inch at a time making sure I stayed away from all the hoses and wires coming out of my fuel pump when a pressure relief hose jumped out of nowhere, hugging the floorboard good to make sure I didn't stand a chance at seeing it.  Anyways, I didn't cut all the way through it but I did puncture it.  Obviously it's there to release back up fuel pressure but how much pressure does the actual hose handle?  Is it something I can repair with a sleeve or will I need to replace it?  Obviosly it's dangerous to have gas fumes filling the interior but is there a more serious danger (fire) if I run the vehicle with it leaking?  I haven't been able to follow the hose to the end so I don't really know where it goes or what it does.
uh...
My shovels nicer!
