So did you just back the bolt out til it hit the hitch then cut enough off so it wasnt still holding the leaf on?
'91 XJ - 3" procrap - cutout for 33" MT's  - More and more dents every run...Sold.

i just backed it out enough to get the blade in so the threaded end ( with the nut still on ) was supporting the spring, cut it then pulled the remainder out while supporting the spring if still under tension
98 ZJ, 5" lift, 4.10's, 33" Dick Cepek Mud Country's, 231 swap,  winch/bumper, rock rails, lincoln locker, CB, parked, waiting to pass SK insp

Check the clearance for the bolt to move up in side when the shackel moves up, i think the bolt only goes in one way starting from the gastank side, nut will be on the outside....................I think...................... :shock:

xjhero... remember on my heep.... there wasn't any clearance issues if the bolt was the right length.... so the bolt could go either way... nut in or out
