That is correct Steve, AJ is going for his first run to Waiparous, he told me he knows you through the Toyota site.  I know AJ through work.  Are you coming out?

Hey Tom, I'd love to go but I'm working all weekend (again, for about the 4th week in a row   ) so I can't pull it off.  My next time out will be at the River Shiver on the Family Day weekend.  Have fun.  :D  ....Steve

I think we need more Jeep related get togethers, not runs but more of a gathering...that way people who own Jeeps who aren't interested in 4x4ing could come out and see that you don't need 50" inch tires and 20" of lift to be part of the club. I'm sure there are lots of people out there with Jeeps that would never be driven off road, take my compass for example....not because I wouldn't but because the wife would never let me :) Might get a lot more people to join and fork over the $50. Stock Jeeps are Jeeps too.

Theres nothing like a parking lot full of jeeps to get other Jeepers attention! :)

Sorry to disapoint you bud but the CJA is a OFFROAD Jeep club

"We are a special group of Jeep enthusiasts who enjoy responsible 4-wheeling. We hold monthly club meetings, trail rides, and other special activities related to our 4-wheeling hobby."

"Our goal is to do our part in promoting safe & legal off-roading and to protect and enjoy the natural resources available to us."

Any stock Jeeps are welcome on club Jeep runs and any 4WD trucks are welcome this week-end (on open non-Jeep runs). If you want to wheel your Compass (as lond as it has 4WD of course... (sorry i'm not too familiar with these babies)) you are more than welcome to come along a stock run.

I absolutely love to wheel. It is my hobby and passion. For some reasons my Jeep is allergic to shopping mall parking lots.

Common get your XJ going and join us for a run... how about this week-end?

[Thread Hijack over...sorry Dan   ]

Hope to see ya and your wife on Sat.

Cheers,

Giffer

Why?   If they have good tread left on them...it should not be a problem. The trails that we will take are very much flat except if we go to the falls or to Margaret lake. There will be a few hills ....nothing crazy. We (the trucks) do not have anything left in Waiporous that is consider a crazy trail anyway   .

It will be a good time to see if your tires work well in the snow.

It will be a fun day... :D .

PS: sorry I don't remember what size of tires you run? I have chains for 33" 12.5". If it's your size and you feel more comfortable with that.. you can borrow them. No problems! :D

Your call...

Cheers,

Giffer

My chains are quite wide. I'm surethey would fit.... anyway...

The best way to go in the winter time is by Cochrane. You can hit the forest trunk road by Water Valley but the road from W.V. to the 940 is crappy (icy). on the 940 you would go South. You'll wee waiporous Rec area, the North Ghost camping area/ and on the left (East) the gravel pit. We air down at the G.pit before hit the trail...

We are meeting in Cochrane at Smity's at 8:00-8:30... prob. leaving the parking lot around 9:30Am.

You can call my cell if you get lost (804-1463) on the way to Cochrane   .

It does not work pass Benchland.

Cheers.

Dude you own a Compass, are you g@y,  :D  :D  :D .  I hope that it was the wifes decision, just joking, but I can't believe you did not talk her out of it.

It is friday morning, I just finished a hearty breakfast, so I am in a good mood, THIS IS JUST A LITTLE RAZZING.

I will be at Smitty by 8:30 with my daughter(3) and nephew(6) and I will be in my "Jeep'ish" with my mudders. No chains.

Man...I'm crazy!!!!

Seriously though...I used to do alot of winter runs with just MT's....sometimes boggers were the flavour of the day...you'll be fine.
