I rarely write posts, but felt compelled to write one after watching the news last night.

I am quite disappointed in the lack of respect shown to the Indian Graves area by back country "vandals" over the weekend. We all know that folks who do these sorts of things make life hard on any responsible back county user. The media's desire to air dirty laundry doesn't help either.

The one bright spot was seeing members of the CJA doing their part to try to right some of the wrongs committed by others. It is selfless acts like this that will be instrumental if we are to keep any trails open in the future. I commend your efforts.

I would just like to thank the people from your club who stayed to cleanup this area. The best way to protect our rights to use public land is to make sure a site is cleaner when we leave than it was when we arrived. It was a big positive to get media coverage for our sport that wasn't negative. Its a sad thing that people are so selfish as to rely on others to follow around behind them.Fantastic job by all involved :D

All I can say is the lack of disrespect of these areas by uneducated savages is enough to make me go loopy.   I'd love to offer my sincere thanks to the CJA for continuously going out there & trying to clean up what others have done.  Unfortunately some people think this is a joke and they can go out there and do whatever they want.

In a never ending viscous circle of destruction and re-birth, you guys have always been there.  Thank you for doing your part.

Also a big thank you to the CJA member who was interviewed on the radio this morning (Country 105).  Excellent words of wisdom!!!!

I heard a month ago that we were supposed to be doing a McLean cleanup with the AURS this weekend but haven't heard much about it since.  It was supposed to be posted on the boards but so far no word...

I might head out there anyway, but if anyone hears anything from the AURS let me know!

I have 3-5 ton trucks at my disposal but have a job going this saturday we do have sunday off and i would be more than happy to supply these trucks and drivers to haul refuse from one of these areas if that would be of assistance. If someone from the club wants to set up a cleanup please pm me.

The Rockymountain Dirt Riders are heading to Maclean this and next weekend but it is more for trail clean up from last Falls' storms. There is blowdown everywhere so we are doing chainsaw parties on both weekends.

Thank alot tymbre1... we really appreciate the offer  :D  but I think we have enought full size trucks and trailers to pick up what we can pick up on Saturday.

That is quite an offer.... It's incredable to see people step up like that.

Thanks again!

Got to congratulate you CJA guys - That was some great PR / Media relations on your part this weekend.

I have to ask though, was that planned/co-ordinated with media outlets? Just asking in hopes other clubs can learn from your success.

(Pretty sure AURS cleanup is at waiparous this saturday, at least that's what seems to be what I've picked up on the various boards)

Definitely not planned.

We are just lucky they decided to air anything about the club at all.

Anyone with experience in clean ups and the media knows they never show up for the good press when invited. I don’t think you could even bribe them at times. They tend to concentrate on the dirt.

Im sure it was just a matter of catching them at the right time to the point that they couldn’t really avoid airing a little bit of good press for the responsible wheeler crowd.
