We're having a little trouble getting some riprap so this is cancelled for this weekend. We should be able to get some trucked in and placed by the bridge for next weekend so the new date is August 25th.

For anyone who needs something to do this Saturday I'm going out to help Garry with some fencing at the Hunter Valley bridges that were put in this/last year. Should be pretty easy work - no debarking:). Meeting at the first bridge (intersection of Hunter Valley Road and the Forestry Trunk road)  at 8:30 or so.

Thanks,

kln

Okay, one last time. We're getting the rock on Monday - we'll do the bridge the following saturday (25th). See you all out there.

Hey Kevin

I just got back from two weeks of camping with the family. I will look at my schedule in the next day but I should be able to come out for the first part of the day until about 3:00.

So who else from the CJA is up for a trail project day.

Not jeepless, but it's definately a project (in the build section).

Doubt I will make it down, but if I can get it going this week, I'll try to pop down.

It looks like they have been trying to get this project finished for a few weeks and get this section of trail reopened.

Who is available to come out and help on Saturday? They will need a few bodies out on Saturday to get this finished. The forecast for the day looks good.

Thanks,

Blair

I'm cancelling this as we don't have enough bodies to do the work.

A few of us are still going out this Saturday

I have talked to Garry and Kevin who were planning this project. It seems the rock to reinforce the abutments for the bridge and prevent erosion has been delivered and is currently sitting on the main trail.  The material has to be moved to the bridge site and off the main trail this Saturday. Even if we do not get the rock in place around the bridge we need to move the stuff away from the main trail before the long weekend. Garry phoned and indicated he would be out at the site at 10:00 on Saturday. I will be going go out to help him from 10:00 till 3:00. Garry and Kevin have work very hard on repairing this bridge with only limited volunteer help. If any others want to come out to help please post up or call me 607-7354.

Thanks Blair

The bridge is located between the Mockingbird Lookout and Waiparous Valley roads between trail intersections 119 and 121.
