Nov 24th - Camp Chamisol right of way clearing
« on: November 20, 2007, 09:43:44 AM »
We were out there yesterday and were able to fall all trees between the main road and the cut line. We were also able to skid some of the trees out (about 25% of the distance).

The new trail will be available for use as soon as we get the trees cleared.

The details are as follows:
* Date: November 24th.
* Departing Cochrane Smitty's restaurant at 8:00 am.
* We'll shutdown at 4:30 pm.
* 2 more trucks required to skid out the trees and probably 4 to 6 more bodies to assist.

Thanks in advance,

kln

I would love to go but I have my office x-mas party next Saturday. I was there on the 18th... it was lots of fun pullling trees out  :D .... it's like working and playing at the same time.

I wish I could go but I'm out for the 24th...

PLEASE if you see big enough trees to use to repair the bridges on Meadow creek trail... try to keep them as long as you can and save them... THANKS!!

If you are leaving smitty's at 8. Does that mean you will be there for breaky at 7. If yes I will stop by on the way to work.
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

Thanks to all the volunteers that came out on Saturday. We cleared 70m~ in the 6 hours we were there. Seems like ASRD picked the densest part of that forest for the new trail;)

Al Hoknes - CJA
Craig Mackay - RMLCA
Mark Ritchie - RMLCA
Peter Straub - RMLCA

I think we could have used 4 more people and one truck to spread the work-load out and allow us to pile up the smaller stuff. A quad would have been good too.

Thank you all for the Hard work....  :D

Please Kevin... let us know when you'll go back (or when Gary will go back) ... we should be able to get a few more Heep to go.

Cheers!
